Welcome to Sentence Rebuilder. Sentence Rebuilder is an application that can rebuild broken sentences. As a simple example, a sentence like "h%w * you" can be submitted to the application to receive the suggested rebuilt sentence, "how are you". The characters '%' and '*' in this case represent broken or missing characters and words respectively.
Sentence Rebuilder is currently implemented in English and French. Users can create "grammar rules" and share these rules with other members of the community. In this way, Sentence Rebuilder is a community-driven application, that will only get better as community members design and share their grammar rules. Grammar rules are created using a block-based visual editing environment, which allows for the creation of grammar rules without requiring an understanding of the underlying grammar markup language.
The rule building environment and the underlying grammar markup language are powerful and expressive, and allow for simple rules to cover a large variety of sentences. For example, part-of-speech constructs can be used to specify a word in a sentence with a particular part-of-speech (noun, verb, adjective, adverb). Additionally, using WordNet and language word lists, the sentence rebuilder can not only make suggestions for broken words, but can also provide synonyms for words which allow for greater matching power when broken sentences are compared against enabled grammar rules. These and other systems make for powerful matching capabilities between grammar rules and sentences.
